Terms and Conditions

  1. To qualify to enter the competition you must be (a) 21 years of age or older; and (b) residing in the UAE.
  2. By entering this competition, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by all decisions of Aramex and MasterCard, which will be final.
  3. To enter the competition, you must:
    • Complete the form on the landing page at now.aramex.com/scaleup.
    • Agree to participate in Aramex’s and Mastercard’s interviews and/or videos for content creation purposes at any time during and after the competition period.
  4. Each participant can only submit one (1) form.
  5. Five (5) finalists (“Finalists”) will be selected based on the presentation of their business idea to a panel consisting of members from Aramex, MasterCard, and third parties selected by Aramex and/or MasterCard.
  6. Aramex and Mastercard will arrange a live networking and workshop event in Dubai, UAE (“Networking Event”) for attendance by all participants. Finalists must attend the Networking Event in order to be eligible for selection as one of the three (3) winners (“Winners”).
  7. The Winners will be selected by the panel at the Networking Event.
    1. One (1) First Prize Winner will receive (i) preferential rates and tailored logistics and supply chain services; (ii) invitation to attend breakaway sessions and training mentorship run by experts during the ScaleUp 2023 event. (iii) expert advice on how to integrate sustainability into the business process; (iv) free promotion of the business across Aramex platforms. (v) AED 250,000 in the form of a bank transfer from Aramex to the winner (“First Place Prize”) on behalf of Mastercard and Aramex.
    2. The two (2) Runner Ups will each receive invitation to attend an exclusive networking lunch with Angel Investors and an invite to ScaleUp 2023 event (“Runner Up Prize”).
  8. Aramex and Mastercard reserve the right to change the Networking Event date or components of the First Place Prize and/or Runner Up Prize (collectively, the “Prizes”) with no warning or liability to participants.
  9. Any use of an electronic device to enhance or alter participant’s odds of winning will be considered a fraudulent entry and will be declared as invalid.
  10. Prizes are non-transferable.
  11. By accepting the Prizes, each winner grants Aramex and Mastercard permission to use the name, photo, statements, and experiences of the winners related to the competition for advertising/marketing purposes without further compensation or permission, unless prohibited by law.
  12. The First Prize Winner agrees that acceptance of the First Place Prize requires the First Prize Winner to register a business account with Aramex.
  13. Participants consent to their data being stored, transferred, and processed (either in the UAE or overseas) by Aramex and Mastercard and consent to their authorized third parties to contact participant if participant wins a Prize and any other uses of the information.
  14. Aramex and Mastercard reserve the right to change these terms and conditions or cancel the competition and/or Prizes at its discretion and without incurring liability as a result.
  15. All federal and local laws and regulations apply, and the competition is void where prohibited by law.
  16. Employees of Aramex or Mastercard or any of their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, and persons connected with the competition and their immediate families are not eligible to enter the competition.
  17. Aramex and Mastercard will not be liable (to the extent permitted by law) for any losses, expenses, damages, including direct, indirect, consequential, incidental, special or punitive damages, arising out of organizing or holding this competition or as a result of your participation in this competition or as a result of your winning, collecting, use or enjoyment of any prize, or if the competition does not run as planned, including claims based on publicity rights, defamations or invasion of privacy. This clause does not seek to exclude the liability of Aramex for (a) death or personal injury caused by its negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; and/or (c) any other matter for which it would be unlawful for them to exclude or attempt to exclude their liability.
  18. These terms and conditions and any disputes arising from these terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Dubai International Financial Center (“DIFC”) and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the DIFC courts.
